Syngred Briddell, a mental health professional with 15 years of experience is the President and creator of the Magnificent Minds Project.
The Magnificent Minds Project was created as a way to celebrate the immense creativity, ingenuity and artistic brilliance that exists within individuals who have mental illness. It is a non profit charitable organization that flourishes solely through donations, in various forms, supplied by diverse entities within the community.
Their mission is to end the stigma attached to mental illness by creating allies and advocates across PA who celebrate the magnificent contributions individuals with mental illness have made to society through arts. They seek to promote traditional and unconventional collaborations, allowing all who participate in the Magnificent Minds Project to engage in mental health advocacy.
The Magnificent Minds Project helps local artists with mental illnesses gain exposure for their work by submitting a piece of art for gallery exhibits. The galleries donate their space. The project funds the purchase of art supplies these artists need to create their art to display. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these arts go directly to the artist.
The Magnificent Minds Project will be on display in various establishments in the community, including the office of Senator Robert Casey when it leaves Gallery Blu. The gallery was honored to be a part of this amazing project and the works of 8 artists have been sold with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the artists.
